Travel itinerary
Day 1. Surabaya – Sukamade Turtle Beach (L/D)
After arrival at Surabaya airport at 08.25, meet and greet by our representative, and we will take a long journey toward Sukamade via Banyuwangi. Please note that this is going to be a long journey (Surabaya – Banyuwangi = 6-7 hrs plus Banyuwangi – Sukamade = 5 hrs = total +/- 12 hrs driving) Once you reach Banyuwangi from Surabaya, we will change the vehicle to 4WD for our purpose toward Sukamade. On our way to Sukamade, you may see endless plantation of coffee, cacao, and traditional rubber tapping. You may even travel through dense Meru Betiri National Forest, where the last Javanese tigers are still believed to roam the area. Stay overnight at simple Sukamade Guesthouse. After a simple dinner at the guesthouse, proceed to the Sukamade beach for the turtle excursion (sightings are not guaranteed). See the turtles slowly walk up ashore to lay their eggs. Then back to the guesthouse for overnight.

Day 2. Sukamade Turtle Beach – Muncar Fisherman Village – Ijen Crater Area (B/L/D)
After a simple breakfast at the guest house, we will have our time to release baby turtle to their natural habitat. Then we will check out from our guest house, take a guided inspection to the factory next to the guest house to have a closer look at spices, coffee, cacao, and rubber processing. Next, we will transfer to Muncar fisherman village. Muncar is the second biggest traditional fishing port in Indonesia. Here you can see more than 2000 traditional fishing boats, salt fish process, then on to the traditional fish market. Then directly go straight to the village to see the tile roof process. Here you can try to make/melt it. After that, we visit the process of coconut sugar. And also we visit a watermelon farm, and we can see local people at home and even their daily activities. Upon completion of the tour, we will transfer to your hotel in the Ijen crater area or Banyuwangi.

Day 3. Ijen Crater Trekking – Mt Bromo (B/L/D)
Early in the morning around 06h00, start Ijen (2,400 m) Excursion. We drive to Paltuding, the last monitoring station, from which you supposed to take a-3 km trek to the crater. Breakfast will be arranged from the hotel (picnic style). This volcano offers a savannah landscape, ruggedly beautiful panoramas, grand hiking, and a placid, brightly yellow crater-lake. The summit of Mt. Ijen is a gorgeous crater filled with a haunting turquoise-blue lake with its surface streaked in the wind blow patterns of yellow sulfur vapor. By the crater lake edge, there is an evil-smelling sulfur where local people are digging and carrying 70-80 kgs on their bare shoulders for 2 miles ascending and descending steep Mt. Ijen wall. Upon completion, transfer to the Mt Bromo area (6-7hrs). Then check in to the hotel for overnight.

Mt Bromo tour is conducted through a transfer to Cemara Lawang village, and descending the steep slope of Mt. Tengger; crossing the sea-of-sand, and climbing up 245 steps to reach the impressive rim crater where like other tourists wait for the sunrise cracking up the day through its rays from the eastern range of Mt. Tengger.
